The skin is our largest organ and our contact surface with the outside world. It is a protective cover and sensory organ at the same time, and it also plays a major role in immune function and as an excretory organ.
Another sub-specialty of dermatology is venous medicine (phlebology), which had already fascinated me before I became a specialist.
During my rotation (training as a general practitioner), I completed my skin training months at the AKH Vienna. Since then, it was clear to me that dermatology would be “my subject” of choice. Getting one of the few residency positions was not easy. But it was more than worth it, as this diverse subject offers so many interesting and exciting aspects.
In my career, I had already focused on vein medicine (venous weakness, varicose veins, spider veins) before my specialist training, including working in a special clinic in Bavaria. Most recently I worked in the Hietzing Hospital, as a specialist in skin and sexually transmitted diseases, in the operating theatre and in various outpatient clinics (general outpatient clinic, vein outpatient clinic, tumour outpatient clinic, psoriasis outpatient clinic, STD outpatient clinic, wound healing outpatient clinic).
For me, regular further training is essential in order to adapt my therapy recommendations to the latest state of science.
My medical standards include a careful anamnesis, the targeted clarification of your dermatological complaints and the optimal therapy adapted to your needs. I will invest enough time for this.
