We kindly ask you to make an appointment before visiting us. The quickest way to make an appointment is via our website. Of course, you can also make an appointment by telephone. In case of an acute problem, we will do our best to treat you at short notice.
A registered doctor without a medical aid contract is called a “Wahlarzt”. You pay cash or by ATM or credit card directly after the consultation and receive a bill. You can submit this bill to your health insurance company and will be reimbursed for part of the costs. This will be the cash tariff, i.e., the amount which would also have been paid to a panel doctor, minus the statutory patients’ contribution (80% of the cash tariff, not the amount paid by us). There will also be no reimbursement for services that would not have been covered by the health insurance. If you have a private supplementary insurance, it will usually cover most of the remaining costs.
You can find a price list under “Services”. It serves as an orientation, as it is difficult to set a final price before the treatment with all potentially required services. You can pay your bill in cash, by debit or credit card (Visa, Mastercard).
If you are unable to attend, please cancel in writing at least 24 hours before the scheduled appointment. If you cancel later or do not show up for the appointment, we will have to charge you a no-show fee of EUR 80.
LARA is a partner network of healthcare providers who work with UNIQA. "Medizin am Hauptbahnhof" is no longer part of the LARA partner network since July 2022. LARA patients are still very welcome in our practice. We will issue an invoice for your visit and the services used, which you can then submit to UNIQA for reimbursement. There is no direct billing option.
First you submit the bill to your health insurance company (e.g., SVS, ÖGK etc.) and then you receive the cash tariff minus the deductible. If you have supplementary health insurance, you send the bill and the reimbursement notification from the health insurance company to your private insurance company. Depending on your insurance policy, you will be reimbursed up to 100% of the remaining amount.
The submission can be made by mail, online form or app. In the meantime, submission via app is the quickest and most straightforward method. If you have any further questions, our reception team will be happy to help.
It is essential for our appointment planning that you cancel your appointment in good time. Please let us know by e-mail to
termine@medizin-am-hbf.at or by phone at +43 1 8905040 at least 24 hours before your scheduled appointment. Otherwise, we will unnecessarily reserve time for you, which we could offer to other patients who sometimes have to wait several days for an appointment in our practice.
We have to deal with no-shows several times a week. The only measure that has an effect is to charge default fees for no-shows. Therefore, we charge default fees of EUR 80, which in turn are passed on to a collection agency in case of non-payment. We are in no way concerned with enrichment, but solely with making our medical capacity available to our patients.
Charity is important to us. For this reason and also as a sign, we donate the sum of the default fees to charitable institutions such as the Austrian Cancer Aid, the Children’s Cancer Aid and 'Licht ins Dunkel'.
